"Doomscrolling "

This is a very interesting topic that undoubtedly has affected my life and it's also referred to as "MEDIA SATURATION OVERLOAD" I recently made a post on my Facebook social media page that you can read by clicking the Facebook link attached to my website with some different perspectives.

Before I get into that let me share a bit about how it affected me! I used to suffer from cronic insomnia so I thought scrolling through social media would help me to shut my mind down, which in turn caused it to get worse and before I knew it, the sun was coming up, and no adequate rest was happening. I was consumed with hours and hours of scrolling. That the pandemic and election year happened and i was so addicted to learning more which sent me spiraling out of control! As a life coach and not getting adequate rest, that was not productive time well spent! When I heard of this concept that "doomscrolling" or "media saturation overload" can affect my mental health, I read more into it and found a few great ways to break that bad habit that was affectingly mental wellness. Now I am in control of the time I allow myself to spend scrolling through social media and myself control over time spent watching the news on a need-to-know basis and social media for business and short intervals scrolling through social media and immediately my mental state had changed, and I am able to focus on what's important!

Some may never had heard of this concept so i hope this information I provide you below is as helpful for you as it was for me!

We need to be an advocate for ourselves in protecting our peace and giving ourselves permission to step away from what's going on in the world for the sake of self-love and our mental wellness!

Stay blessed and grounded! Your only as good for others as you are to yourself! Shine bright for the world to see!
